Roll the awning all the way in before the weather arrives, and if it is motorized, do it while you still have power; do not leave it to a wind sensor. Raise every drop screen. Bring cushions, pillows and umbrella canopies inside. Afterwards, open the awning again so it dries, rinse and dry everything completely, and check the seams. A fixed awning's canvas is safest off the frame in a hurricane; ask us at the start of the season how yours comes off.
