These terms apply to Canvas USA® gift cards and gift certificates. They sit under the Canvas USA® Terms of Service, which govern your purchase. Ready to buy one? Order a Canvas USA® Gift Card.
1) The short version
• You have five years to spend it — five full years from the day the card is issued.
• There are no fees of any kind — no activation fee, no service fee, no dormancy or inactivity fee.
• Spend it on anything we sell, in one go or over several orders.
• Keep it safe. We treat it like cash.
• Cards issued before October 1, 2026 never expire. The terms you bought under still stand.

2) Expiration
A Canvas USA® gift card expires five years after the date it is issued. If value is added to a card later, the five years runs from the date value was last added, whichever date is later. Until then the balance does not reduce over time.
The expiration date is shown to you before you pay, printed on the card or in the email that delivers it, and repeated in your order confirmation. You can also ask us for it at any time — see §7.
Cards issued before October 1, 2026 do not expire at all. This version applies only to cards issued on or after that date. We do not shorten a card you already own.
3) No fees
We charge no purchase or activation fee, no monthly or annual service fee, and no dormancy or inactivity fee. We do not charge to replace a lost or damaged card. The value you buy is the value you get.
4) What you can use it on
Anything Canvas USA® sells — custom work, stock goods, hardware, coatings, service and installation — online, over the telephone, or at a Canvas USA® counter.
It can be used for part of an order and the rest paid another way. If your order costs more than the card balance, you pay the difference. If it costs less, the remaining balance stays on the card for next time.
A gift card may be used toward a deposit on a custom order. Where it is, the amount applied is treated the same as any other payment under Terms of Service §6.
5) What it is not
• Not redeemable for cash, except where state law requires us to cash out a balance
• Not a credit card, debit card or bank account, and it earns no interest
• Not reloadable unless we tell you otherwise at the time you buy it
• Not usable to buy another gift card
• Not intended for resale, and not to be listed or sold on a third-party marketplace

6) Lost, stolen or damaged
Treat a gift card like cash. If it is lost or stolen we will replace the remaining balance only if you can give us the card number or the original purchase record, and only if the balance has not already been spent. Without one of those we cannot trace it.
If a card is damaged but you have the number, call us and we will reissue it at no charge. A replacement card keeps the original expiration date; replacing a card does not restart the five years.
7) Checking your balance and expiration date
Call 888-341-1234 or email [email protected] with the card number. We will tell you the balance and the expiration date, free of charge.
8) Returns and refunds
A gift card itself cannot be returned or refunded once it is issued.
Where you paid for an order with a gift card and that order is later refunded under the Returns & Refunds policy, the refund goes back to the gift card, not to cash or a card. A refund under Terms of Service §3 — the three-business-day right on an order signed away from our premises — is refunded to you in the way you paid, including to the gift card.
9) Amounts, purchase limits and verification
• Maximum per card: $2,000. We do not issue a single gift card above this amount.
• Maximum per order: $5,000, across any number of cards.
• Maximum $10,000 of gift cards to one person in any one day, counted across every order and every channel.

An order over $2,000 in gift cards is verified before the cards are issued. We confirm that the billing address matches the payment method, and we may ask a first-time buyer to verify identity. An order we cannot verify is cancelled and refunded. We do not accept cash for gift cards above $2,000.
Above $5,000, a gift card is the wrong tool. Call 888-341-1234 and we will place the amount on your account as Canvas USA® credit, or take it as a deposit against the work itself under Terms of Service §6. Both are traceable to you, neither can be lost or passed to someone else, and both apply to any order you place. This is how we handle corporate, dealer and large custom prepayment.
We may refuse or void a gift card obtained fraudulently, bought with a payment that was later reversed, or used in a way that breaks these terms. We may decline any gift card order at our discretion.
10) Your rights
These terms do not limit any right you have under federal or state law that cannot be waived, including under the Credit CARD Act of 2009 and Texas law. Federal law requires that gift card funds remain good for at least five years; that is the term we give. Where the law gives you more than these terms do, the law applies.
Where state law requires it, an unspent balance on an expired or unused card may have to be reported and paid over to that state as unclaimed property. If that happens, you claim the money from the state, and we will tell you how.
11) Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. A new version applies to gift cards issued on or after its effective date. It does not change a card you already hold. Each version carries its own version number and effective date at the top of this page.
