Materials & Construction
This is a lever-action grease gun with a heavy-gauge steel barrel and corrosion-resistant bright metal finish, designed to deliver consistent, high-pressure grease flow for smoother-running bearings, joints, and fittings.
Product Description
Why you'll want it
- Loads 14.5 oz as well as 14 oz. It takes 14.5 oz cartridges as well as 14 oz ones, the two sizes the listing names.
- A steel barrel that stands up to knocks. The barrel is heavy-gauge steel, and the listing says it resists dents, which helps the tool last longer.
- Bright metal finish for wet, salty work. The bright metal finish is listed as corrosion-resistant and suited to marine, auto and industrial use.
- Grease it before winter storage. Fall is a good time to grease trailer wheel bearings and winches before winter storage, and the listing also names hatch hinges and pumps.
What it is
Star brite's Heavy-Duty Lever Grease Gun is a lever-action grease gun for loading grease cartridges. Pull the lever to push grease from the cartridge out to bearings, joints and fittings. It takes 14.5 oz cartridges as well as 14 oz ones, and the listing names marine, automotive and industrial jobs.
How to use it
- Unscrew the head cap and take it off the barrel.
- Look at the rubber plunger inside the barrel. If it looks uneven, pull the rod handle out fully and let it go a few times, until it evens out.
- Draw the rod handle out as far as it goes and lock it in the retaining slot.
- Take the plastic cap off the grease cartridge, then slide the open end into the barrel.
- Push the cartridge in until the pull-tab rim touches the barrel rim, then take off the pull-tab seal.
- Put the head cap back on.
- Free the rod handle from the retaining slot and gently press it in to prime the gun.
- Work the lever a few times, until grease comes out of the coupler.
What else the job needs
Good to have on hand: grease cartridges in the 14 oz or 14.5 oz size to load into the gun.
