Materials & Construction
This is a thick gel-formula cleaner engineered to chemically lift rust, tannin, and waterline stains from fiberglass and gelcoat surfaces without sanding or scrubbing. Its clinging gel texture keeps the product working on vertical and curved surfaces, leaving fiberglass ready for polish, wax, or ceramic coating.
Product Description
Why you'll want it
- Lifts rust and tannin stains. This gel is made to remove rust, tannin and waterline stains from fiberglass. It works on gelcoat and painted finishes too.
- No sanding, no abrasive pads. The gel lifts stains chemically, so you do not need to rub the surface hard. That cuts down on hand scrubbing.
- Thick gel stays where you put it. The gel clings to vertical and curved surfaces. That helps it stay on the stain while it works.
- Clean waterline stains this fall. Waterline stains build up after long water exposure. Work on a day when the air is above 50°F, as the directions say, before the cold sets in.
What it is
The Star brite GEL FSR Xtreme Fiberglass Stain Remover is a 16 oz thick gel made by Star brite. It is made to lift rust, tannin and waterline stains from boats and RVs. You apply it with a cloth, sponge or brush.
How to use it
- Shake well before use.
- Apply the gel with a cloth, sponge or brush to the stained surface.
- Let it work for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Rinse with fresh water.
- If the stain is stubborn, apply a second time.
- Use it when the temperature is above 50°F.
- Wear rubber gloves while you work.
What else the job needs
Good to have on hand: a cloth, sponge or brush for applying, rubber gloves, and fresh water for rinsing, as the directions list. Pairs well with polish, wax or ceramic coating once the stain is gone, since the surface is then ready for them.
