Materials & Construction
This is a liquid teak cleaning solution, sold as Part A of a two-step system, formulated to lift weathering and grime from teak decking and trim so the wood returns to its natural golden color without abrasive sanding.
Product Description
Why you'll want it
- Brings back the golden color. Weathered decking and trim can look golden again. No trip to the sander is needed.
- Skips the sanding. You can skip the sanding. The product text calls sanding costly, slow and harsh on the wood.
- Lifts stains and grime. The product text lists grey oxidation, oil, fish marks, spills and varnish as things it lifts, and it does this without damaging the wood.
- Clean teak before winter storage. Fall is a good time to clean teak ahead of winter storage, so it is ready when the boat comes back out in spring.
What it is
Tip Top Teak Cleaner Part A is a 32 fl. oz. quart of teak cleaner from Tip Top Teak. It is the first of two steps in a teak cleaning process. Use it on decking and trim that has weathered.
How to use it
- Start by applying Part A to weathered decking and trim, as the product directs.
- Then use the matching Part B step to finish the job and bring out the golden shade.
- When you are done, let the teak weather to a silver grey, or add a teak oil or sealer to protect it longer.
- Between uses, keep the container tightly sealed and somewhere cool and dry.
What else the job needs
Good to have on hand: the Part B step of the same two-step system, which completes the treatment. Pairs well with a teak oil or teak sealer if you want longer lasting protection.
