    This is a hook-and-loop RUPES foam polishing pad sized for 80/100mm backing plates, built to bridge coarse cutting and fine finishing steps in a single versatile pad for a smoother, more consistent paint finish.

    Product Description

    Why you'll want it

    • One pad for coarse and fine steps. It sits in the middle of the D-A Series, between the yellow fine pad and the blue coarse pad. Several RUPES compounds work with it, so you change compound, not pad, between steps.
    • Handles severe and fine defects. With D-A COARSE compound, it helps remove severe defects on many painted and solid surfaces. With D-A FINE compound, it takes out moderate-to-fine defects and leaves a high-gloss shine.
    • Finishes with UNO protection. Pair it with UNO PROTECT or UNO ADVANCED for the final polish. That step helps build a protective layer on the surface.
    • Polish before winter storage this fall. October is haul-out season. Finish work done before winter storage means the boat is ready when spring comes.

    What it is

    This RUPES foam polishing pad is the D-A Intermediate, in light blue, sized for 80/100mm plates. It belongs to the RUPES D-A Series, where colors help tell the pads apart.

    How to use it

    1. Mount the pad on the BigFoot backing plate, then attach it to the polisher.
    2. Pick the compound for your step: D-A COARSE for severe defects, D-A FINE for moderate-to-fine defects, or UNO PROTECT or UNO ADVANCED for the final polish.
    3. When you finish, clean the pad with a pad cleaner to take off spent compound.
    4. Let it dry completely before you store or reuse it.
