Product Description
Shade when you need it. Out of the way when you don't. The Bimini T™ is a console-mounted boat shade, hand-built by Canvas USA® to your boat. It reaches aft over the helm on a three-bar folding frame that stays up while you run at reasonable speed, folds forward and drops out of your line of sight when you want it gone, and lifts off the boat entirely when you want the deck back.
Why you'll love it
- Built to your boat. Made to your make, model and year — over 1,000 boat configurations.
- Up when you want it, gone when you don't. Folds forward, drops low, or comes off in a minute.
- Runs with you. Designed to stay up at reasonable speed, so you keep your shade underway.
- Built for salt air. Marine-grade acrylic canvas and your choice of nylon or 316 stainless fittings.
- Yours to spec. Canvas USA® Signature I canvas colors, plus the Texas flag.
- Light and removable. The complete unit is 23 lbs and lifts right off.
For the boats without shade
The Bimini T was invented by Canvas USA® for center console boats that never had a T-top, and it is still the answer for them. It is sized to the width of your console, so you get real shade over the helm and the forward seats without giving up the room you fish in. On most boats the rod holders still work, whether they sit on the console side or behind the helm seats.
Everything you need to get on the water
Your Bimini T arrives complete: the frame and the canvas skin, two uprights, a spreader bar, adjustable straps, all of the mounting hardware, a storage boot to protect the canvas when the top is down, and the installation guide. Assembly is straightforward and the guide walks the whole job, mount by mount.
Only the best — made by Canvas USA®
We build the Bimini T ourselves and only ourselves, so the quality control never leaves our floor. Heavy-wall aluminum tubing, 316 stainless steel buckles and your choice of nylon or stainless fittings, and our own marine-grade acrylic canvas. Made to order, and proudly made in America.
Fold it flat, or take it off
Pull pins let you lay the top flat at the front or the back of the boat without adding any height, so a garage that fit your boat before still fits it now. Want the top off altogether? Pull the pins, back out the two bottom mounts, and your boat is back to stock. Never tow with the shade deployed. It is not built for highway speeds — fold it down and put the boot on before the boat goes on the road.
How to measure
Measure the overall width of the area where the shade will mount — your center console at its widest point. Include anything that sticks out. If your rod holders protrude further than the console, measure to the rod holders. If a grab bar protrudes further, measure to the grab bar. Whichever sticks out furthest is the number we need, because the uprights have to clear it.

Built to your boat, not to a size chart
Tell us your make, model and year and we build to your exact console. Not sure of your measurements? Select "Contact Canvas USA® for Measuring Assistance" and a Canvas USA® specialist will confirm them with you before anything is cut. Every Bimini T™ is hand-built in America and ships nationwide, ready to install with a full guide.
Before you tow — important
Do not drive down the road with the shade deployed. It is not designed to withstand the forces of highway speeds. Fold it down and fit the storage boot before the boat goes on the trailer. On the water you can captain the boat with the shade up at a reasonable speed — check that your straps are tight and the whole top is fastened correctly first. Use the boot in heavy storms and rain as well.
Three-year workmanship warranty
Every product Canvas USA® manufactures carries a three-year workmanship warranty covering manufacturing defects. Keep your proof of purchase — it is what makes a claim quick. Wear and tear is not a defect, and canvas fades naturally with sun and weather over time; that is normal and expected, not a fault.
Looking after it
Never wash the canvas with household detergents. Dawn, Simple Green and anything like them strip the protectants out of the fabric — use our canvas cleaners and protectants instead. Wipe the bars down with WD-40 on a rag, keep the slide track lubricated, and keep every strap and fastener snug when the shade is folded out: that tension is what gives it the strength to hold against the wind. We carry every replacement part, so ask rather than improvise.
Rather not fit it yourself?
Canvas USA® offers an installation service and will fit the shade to your boat for you. If you do install it yourself, one warning worth repeating from the guide: before you drill, check what is behind the console or the deck — never put a screw into a fuel tank, wiring or a battery. Call us on (888) 341-1234 if you get stuck.
