    • Safe for scratch-resistant paint. It is safe for all paint systems, including scratch-resistant ones, and it has no silicone or solvents.
    • A good fall job before winter storage. October is a good time to polish before haul-out and winter storage. Doing it now puts the work behind you before spring.

    What it is

    The DiTEC Medium Cut Polishing Compound is a cream from DiTEC Marine Products, sold in a 32 oz container. It is a one-step product that sands and gives a high-gloss polish. It is made for painted surfaces on boats.

    How to use it

    1. Put enough compound on the polishing pad, or on the painted surface.
    2. Spread it over the defect at a low speed, about 1000 rpm.
    3. Then work it at about 1600 rpm with moderate pressure.

    What else the job needs

    Good to have on hand: the DiTEC Orange Trapez foam polishing pad, which the maker recommends for this compound.
