Materials & Construction
This gel-formula teak sealer remover uses a citrus-based solution to strip old teak oil and sealer from wood surfaces, leaving them clean and ready for fresh refinishing.
Product Description
Why you'll want it
- Strips old oil and sealer. This gel is made to take old teak oil and sealer off the wood, so you can start with a clean surface.
- Gel stays where you put it. The gel clings to up-and-down surfaces and will not run or splatter as you work.
- Ready for a fresh finish. It prepares the wood for new oil or sealer, and it does not raise the wood grain.
- Get teak ready for spring. Fall is a good time to refinish teak over the winter, so the wood is ready when spring comes.
What it is
Star brite makes this 32 oz citrus-scented gel, called the Star brite Teak Sealer Remover Gel Formula. It is a teak sealer remover, used to take old oil and sealer off teak wood.
How to use it
- Brush the gel onto the teak surface.
- Let it stand for about 5 minutes.
- Rub with a stiff bristle brush, moving in the direction of the wood grain.
- Rinse with fresh water to show the cleaned teak.
- For any blemishes or discolorations that remain, rub with Star brite Teak Scrub while the teak is still wet.
- When the teak is completely clean, apply Star brite Teak Brightener, then one of Star brite's Teak Oils or Sealers.
What else the job needs
Good to have on hand: Star brite Teak Scrub for any blemishes or discolorations that remain, and a stiff bristle brush for the rubbing step. Pairs well with Star brite Teak Brightener and a Star brite teak oil or sealer to finish.
