Why you'll want it
- Clean, brighten and seal in three steps. The cleaner, the brightener and the oil work as one system. Step 1 removes dirt, grime and gray weathering, and Step 2 brings out the wood's natural color.
- Safe on fiberglass and painted surfaces. The cleaner and the brightener will not harm fiberglass or painted surfaces. The cleaner is also safe on all teak surfaces.
- Seals teak with UV protection. Step 3 is a teak oil that seals and protects marine teak. It penetrates deep, and it dries quickly.
- Seal teak before fall storage. Fall is a good time to seal teak before the boat goes into winter storage. Step 3 helps guard the wood against sun and moisture damage.
What it is
The Star brite Premium Teak Care Kit is a 3-step teak care kit from Star brite, sold in a 32 oz size. It cleans, brightens and protects teak and other fine wood on boats and outdoor furniture. The kit includes Step 1 Teak Cleaner, Step 2 Teak Brightener and Step 3 Teak Oil.
How to use it
- For badly weathered, grey or black teak, apply the Teak Cleaner and Teak Brightener to dry wood.
- Spread it with a stiff bristle cleaning brush or a STAR BRITE Medium Scrub Pad. Let it stay on the wood for two to three minutes.
- Scrub with the grain, then rinse well with fresh water. Severely dirty or stained wood may need a second application and a STAR BRITE Stainless Steel Teak Scrub pad.
- For lightly weathered teak, wet the wood with fresh water first. Apply the cleaner and brightener with a bristle brush or medium scrub pad, scrub lightly, and rinse well.
- Apply Step 3 Teak Oil after cleaning. Step 2 prepares the wood so that the oil or sealer penetrates more consistently.
- Rinse off any spills or drips onto surfaces you are not treating, and keep product off fabrics. Let each step dry as directed before you start the next.
What else the job needs
Good to have on hand: a stiff bristle cleaning brush or a bristle brush, a STAR BRITE Medium Scrub Pad, and a STAR BRITE Stainless Steel Teak Scrub pad for severely dirty wood. Fresh water is used to wet and rinse the wood.
