    DiTEC Teak Magic Part 1 is a gel-based, non-hazardous teak cleaner formulated to lift dirt and graying from teak without acids or sanding, leaving teak decks and wood furniture with a brighter, more natural finish.

    Why you'll want it

    • Brightens teak without sanding. For teak with no coating, the gel brings back natural color and brightness without sanding. It is non-destructive, so it is gentle on the wood.
    • A gel you can control. The gel helps you place it on both flat and upright surfaces. After rinsing, it leaves no dirty residue on gelcoat or moldings.
    • Safe to rinse into waterways. The record says it is MARPOL compliant and safe to rinse into waterways. It is also readily biodegradable.
    • Fall is a good time to brighten teak. Fall is a good time to clean teak before the boating season ends. The gel works on decks and wood furniture, so you can do both at once.

    What it is

    DiTEC Teak Magic Part 1 is the first of two gel steps in a teak cleaner made by DiTEC Marine Products. It is a gel, sold in a one gallon size, and the record calls it non-hazardous and organic. It cleans and brightens teak decks and wood furniture, and it is designed to be followed by Part 2.

    How to use it

    1. For deep or heavy-duty cleaning, mix 1 part Teak Magic Part 1 with 4 parts fresh water in a bucket (1:4).
    2. For light to routine cleaning, mix at 1:6 to 1:8.
    3. Spread the mix completely and evenly onto the surface with a foam brush, deck brush or polypropylene scrub pad.
    4. If it touches aluminum or brass, rinse it off with water right away.
    5. Follow with DiTEC Teak Magic Part 2 to complete the two-part cleaning process.

    What else the job needs

    Good to have on hand: a bucket for mixing, and a foam brush, deck brush or polypropylene scrub pad for spreading. Pairs well with DiTEC Teak Magic Part 2, the second step of the system.
