Materials & Construction
This is a blended wool buffing pad made for rotary polishers, formulated to cut through oxidation and light sanding scratches while leaving a polished finish. It moves from light cut compounding to heavy polishing in a single pad.
Product Description
Why you'll want it
- One pad from cutting to gloss. The blended wool handles light work with compound at the start and heavy polishing at the end. You can see the whole job through on the same pad.
- Clears oxidation and fine scratches. Use it to take off the dull film of oxidation and the faint marks left by sanding. The surface comes back smooth and polished.
- A full case on the shelf. You get 12 pads in the case. Put on a fresh one when the wool gets loaded, and keep spares ready for the next boat.
- Buff it while the boat is out. Fall haul-out puts your boat on dry land and in easy reach. Work out the dull spots over the winter, and it is ready to shine at spring launch.
What it is
This is a case of 12 Blue Soft Polish buffing pads from Presta. Each pad is blended wool and fits a rotary buffer (a polisher that spins the pad in a steady circle). The pads are meant for light cutting with compound through heavy polishing.
How to use it
- Fit the pad to your rotary buffer.
- Put your compound or polish on the wool.
- Move the pad across the surface at an even speed. Start with cutting passes on oxidation and scratches.
- Finish with lighter polishing passes until the gloss comes up.
- Clear built-up product from the wool now and then as you work.
- Rinse the pad well when you are done. Let it dry all the way before you put it away.
What else the job needs
Good to have on hand: a rotary buffer that matches the pad size and connection you choose, plus the compound or polish you apply to the wool.
