Materials & Construction
Star brite Marine Polish is a hand- or buffer-applied boat wax that lifts oxidation, chalk, and light scratches while leaving a durable, UV-resistant shine on hulls, fittings, and painted surfaces. A single application protects and restores luster, while a second coat within 10-30 days builds a longer-lasting shield against chalking and corrosion.
Product Description
Why you'll want it
- Lifts light scratches and oxidation. Rubbing the polish in can lift light oxidation, scratches and swirl marks. Most surfaces need no hard rubbing.
- Brings back a like-new shine. Once you buff off the haze with a dry cloth, the hull, the fittings and the painted parts can look new again.
- Helps guard against UV fading. The formula can help protect against fading from UV rays, so your boat keeps a fresh look for longer.
- Do both coats this fall. Fall is a good time for this job. Put the second coat on 10 to 30 days after the first, so both can be done before winter.
What it is
Marine Polish by Star brite is a boat polish sold in a 16 oz bottle. The product's own text also calls it a boat wax, and it works on hulls, fittings and painted surfaces.
How to use it
- Wash the surface first. The product text recommends a boat wash for this step.
- Give the bottle a good shake before you use it.
- Apply with a clean cloth in a firm, overlapping pattern, one small section at a time. You can use your hand or a buffer.
- Rub the wet polish in to lift chalk, surface rust and oxidation. Most surfaces need no hard rubbing, but heavily chalked areas take more rubbing.
- Let it dry to a haze, then buff it off with a dry cloth.
- Wait 10 to 30 days, then apply a second coat for more protection.
What else the job needs
Good to have on hand: a boat wash for the first step, a clean cloth for applying and a dry cloth for buffing. A buffer is optional.
