    Gtechniq Panel Wipe is a solvent-based paint prep solution formulated to strip polish residue and decontaminate paintwork, leaving a clean surface for maximum coating adhesion.

    Product Description

    Why you'll want it

    • Lifts old polish off the paint. It dissolves polish residue, so the surface is clean before you apply the next product.
    • Helps a coating bond to paint. With the old polish gone, a chemically bonding coating has a better chance to grip the paint, as the maker describes it.
    • No fragrance or colour added. The formula is fragrance free and colour free, as the maker states.
    • Fall is a good time to prep. Clean off old polish now, before a new coating goes on, so the prep is done ahead of spring.

    What it is

    Gtechniq Panel Wipe 500ml is a paint prep solvent made by Gtechniq Marine. It is a blend of pure alcohols and solvents, sold in a 500ml size. Use it to remove polish residue before you apply a chemically bonding coating.

    How to use it

    1. Test it on a small area of paintwork first, to make sure it is compatible.
    2. Let the surface cool before use.
    3. Shake well and wear gloves.
    4. Spray it onto an MF1 ZeroR Microfiber Buff Cloth, then wipe onto the surface.
    5. Over-wipe with a dry MF1 to make sure the surface is residue-free.
    6. Allow the solvent to flash off completely before you apply your chosen coating.

    What else the job needs

    Good to have on hand: MF1 microfiber buff cloths, which the product text names for use with this solvent, and gloves. Pairs well with the chemically bonding coating you plan to apply after the surface is clean.
