    Materials & Construction

This is a 9" double-sided wool compounding pad designed for heavy cutting, quickly removing sanding scratches to prep surfaces for finer polishing steps.

    Product Description

    Why you'll want it

    • Removes heavy sanding scratches. The heavy cut wool pile is made to take out deep sanding marks on marine and automotive finishes.
    • Both faces can be used. The pad is double-sided, so you can use both faces before it needs replacing.
    • Fits standard screw-on backing plates. At 9 inches across, it fits standard screw-on backing plates.
    • Ready for spring, fix scratches this fall. Fall is a good time to compound out sanding marks, so the finish is ready for spring.

    What it is

The Presta White Double-Sided Screw-On Pad is a 9-inch heavy cut wool compounding pad made by Presta. It has a 1-1/2 inch thick wool pile on both sides. It screws on and attaches with a double-sided adapter, and it is built for marine and automotive finishes.

    How to use it

    1. Attach the pad to your buffer with the double-sided screw-on adapter.
    2. Work the pad over heavily scratched areas at a controlled speed to compound out the sanding marks.
    3. When the sanding marks are gone, move to a finer finishing pad.

    What else the job needs

Pairs well with the double-sided screw-on adapter, which the product description names as the way this pad attaches. Good to have on hand: a finer finishing pad, which the description says to use after this one.
