Materials & Construction
Star brite Premium Teak Brightener Step 2 is a rinse-off wood brightening treatment that restores the warm, natural color to grey, weathered teak without scrubbing.
Product Description
Why you'll want it
- Warm color back on grey teak. The formula is made to bring back the warm color that grey, weathered teak has lost. It works on boats and furniture.
- No scrubbing to do. Skip the rubbing. You can use a sponge, a cloth or a brush, then rinse off after 5 minutes.
- Shows off the wood grain. It brings out the grain and works on teak and other fine woods.
- Ready before winter storage. Fall is a good time to bring back the color before the boat goes into winter storage. Only work on a day warmer than 50°F.
What it is
Star brite's teak brightener, Step 2, comes in a 32 oz bottle. You use it second, after the cleaning step, when you restore teak. It is meant for fine woods like teak, used on boats and in furniture.
How to use it
- Shake the bottle well first.
- Only use it on a day warmer than 50°F.
- Put on rubber gloves to guard your skin.
- For better results, clean dirty or stained wood first with a teak cleaner from the same brand.
- Brush, sponge, or wipe it on, moving with the grain of the wood.
- Rinse with fresh water after about 5 minutes.
- Then protect the wood with a teak oil or teak oil sealer from the same brand.
- Rinse away any spills or drips at once from surfaces you are not treating.
What else the job needs
Good to have on hand: a teak cleaner for pre-treating dirty wood, and a teak oil or teak oil sealer for the step after brightening. Both are named in the directions, from the same brand.
