Materials & Construction
Gtechniq Ceramic Top is a ceramic spray-on topper that adds a slick, dirt-repelling, anti-static layer over treated surfaces, boosting gloss while helping guard against dust buildup and UV-related fading.
Product Description
Why you'll want it
- Shed dirt between washes. It is made to repel dirt, so your finish can look cleaner between washes.
- Boost gloss and slickness. It is designed to add shine and a slick feel to the surface it covers.
- Helps guard against dust and UV. Its anti-static function is made to keep the surface dust-free. A strong UV filter is built in and can help limit premature fading.
- Get it on before winter storage. Apply it before haul-out and winter storage, so the dust and UV features are in place when the boat is put away.
What it is
Gtechniq Ceramic Top 250ml is a ceramic spray topper from Gtechniq Marine. It goes over the gelcoat or topcoat of your boat, or over a layer of Ceramic Base if one is already on the surface. Its spec lists it as a ceramic coating.
How to use it
- If you apply it directly to gelcoat or topcoat, polish the surface first to remove imperfections.
- Clean the surface very well. Use Gtechniq Panel Wipe and a Gtechniq MF1 Microfiber to remove all polish residue.
- Soak the application pad with product.
- Spread it over an area no larger than 2 by 2 feet (60 x 60 cm). Remove the residue with a Gtechniq MF1 Microfiber.
- Use about 5.5 to 7 ml per square meter (0.5 to 0.7 ml per square foot). The amount depends on how porous your gelcoat or topcoat is.
What else the job needs
Good to have on hand: a polish, for smoothing imperfections before you apply, and Gtechniq Panel Wipe with a Gtechniq MF1 Microfiber, both named in the steps for cleaning and removing residue.
