Product Description
Why you'll want it
- Made for paint and primer. The record lists paint, putty, primer and gelcoat as uses. It also names wood and composite materials. You can sand a range of surfaces with one sheet type.
- Less clogging while you sand. A stearate layer helps dust come off the sheet. The record says this improves dust extraction and limits clogging, so the sheet keeps cutting longer.
- Made for dry sanding. The record says this sheet is ideal for dry use. You do not need to wet the surface to get good results.
- Good for fall surface prep. Fall is a good time to sand and prep surfaces over the winter. Then the boat is ready when spring comes, and the record lists paint, primer and gelcoat as uses.
What it is
This is the RUPES PROCUT Film Abrasive Sheet, made by RUPES. Each sheet is 80mm x 130mm, has 12 holes and is P320 grit, and the box holds 100 pieces. The record says it has ceramic abrasive grains on a polyester (PET) film backing.
How to use it
- Start with the least aggressive grit that does the job. The record says lower grit numbers are coarser and remove material faster.
- Step through finer grits in order. The record says skipping stages leaves scratches the next step cannot remove.
- Use the sheet dry, as the record says it is ideal for dry use.
What else the job needs
Good to have on hand: other RUPES PROCUT grits, which the record lists as P220, P180, P120, P68 and P60, each sold as a box of 100.
