Product Description
Why you'll want it
- Dust clears better, so the disc keeps working. The stearate layer helps dust come off the disc and cuts down on clogging, so the disc stays useful for longer.
- One disc for paint, primer and gelcoat. Point these discs at paint, putty, primer or gelcoat jobs. They also suit wood and composite materials, and they are made for dry sanding.
- Get fall and winter sanding done. Fall and winter are a good window for this work, so your boat is ready when spring arrives.
What it is
These are 125mm (5 inch) sanding discs from RUPES, part of the PROCUT film line. Each disc has 17 holes and P220 grit, and a box holds 50. The abrasive grains are ceramic, set on a film backing made of polyester (PET).
How to use it
- Begin with the grit that is least aggressive yet still does the job.
- Move up through finer grits one step at a time. A skipped step leaves marks that the next grit cannot take out.
- These discs are ideal for dry use, so sand dry.
What else the job needs
Good to have on hand: other grits from this RUPES line, coarser grits such as P80, P120 and P180 for the first steps, and finer grits such as P320 and P400 for the last steps.
