Product Description
Why you'll want it
- Works on paint, putty and primer. Use these discs to remove old paint, shape putty and prepare primer surfaces. The record also lists gelcoat, wood and composite materials.
- Flexible paper for curved parts. The paper backing is reinforced with latex and chemical fiber. The record says it stays flexible on contoured or uneven surfaces and resists tearing.
- Stearate coat keeps dust off the disc. A stearate coating helps pull dust away and reduces clogging, so the disc cuts longer between swaps.
- Get paint work done before winter. Fall is a good time to fix paint and putty before the cold months. These discs are made for removing old paint and preparing primer.
What it is
RUPES MULTIPURPOSE paper abrasive discs are sanding discs made by RUPES. Each disc is 150mm (6 inches) across, has 15 holes and is P120 grit. Lower grit numbers are coarser and remove material faster, and this box holds 100 discs.
How to use it
- Start with the least aggressive grit that does the job.
- Step through finer grits in stages, since skipping a stage leaves scratches the next grit cannot remove.
- Before a high-gloss topcoat, finish-sand primer at about 320 to 400 grit, then follow the topcoat's technical data sheet for its surface profile.
What else the job needs
Good to have on hand: other grits from this RUPES line, listed in the record as P40, P80, P180, P220, P320 and P400. The record also names a topcoat as the step after finish-sanding primer.
