Product Description
Why you'll want it
- Works on paint, primer, putty and gelcoat. The record lists paint, putty, primer and gelcoat as uses, plus wood and composite materials. It says the discs also suit automotive primers, metals and plastics.
- Dust leaves the disc more easily. A stearate layer on the disc is said to help dust extraction and limit clogging. That keeps the disc working for longer on each sanding job.
- Get the prep done before spring. Fall is a good time to sand and prep a boat for refinishing over the winter, so it is ready when spring comes. The box holds 50 discs, so you can stock up in one buy.
What it is
These are RUPES PROCUT film abrasive discs, 125mm (5 inch) with 17 holes, in P120 grit. They come in a box of 50 and have ceramic abrasive grains on a polyester (PET) film backing. The record says they are ideal for dry use.
How to use it
- Start with the least aggressive grit that does the job. P120 is the grit this listing covers.
- Step through finer grits in order. The record says skipping a stage leaves scratches the next step cannot remove.
- Use the discs dry, as the record describes.
What else the job needs
Good to have on hand: other grits in the same RUPES line, which the record lists as P80, P180, P220, P320 and P400.
